The ticket was sold for the Dec. 5 drawing and is set to expire on June 2.

All draw tickets expire after 180 calendar days from the draw date.

Powerball players went into a frenzy in late 2015 and early 2016 as the jackpot climbed to multiple record-breaking amounts. Three people won the $1.6 billion jackpot for the Jan. 16 drawing.

Tickets can be checked online at CTLOTTERY.ORG, by scanning in a lottery Ticket Checker, by using the official CT Lottery Mobile App, or at any lottery retailer location.
