2018 Row Of Honor Kickoff Breakfast
Putnam County Executive MaryEllen Odell invites the public to kick off the spring Row of Honor season with a pancake breakfast on May 20.

From the Office of Putnam County Executive MaryEllen Odell: Putnam County Executive MaryEllen Odell invites the public to kick off the spring Row of Honor season with a pancake breakfast on Sunday, May 20 at the Carmel VFW Hall, located on Route 52 in Carmel, N.Y. from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. There is a suggested donation of $10 per person or $15 per family.
Twice a year, for Memorial Day and Veterans Day, 100 flags with the names of lost veterans line the shore of Lake Gleneida. This historic observation has become a cherished tradition for residents and has drawn national attention to Putnam County.
“There is something so special about looking out on Lake Gleneida and seeing those flags dance in the wind so freely,” said Odell. “It makes you take a moment and remember that there was a cost to our safety and freedom. These flags are a thank you to those who sacrificed it all so we could live a blessed life.”
With a $100 donation, the name of your loved one can appear on a flag. The proceeds will go towards the hosting of the Vietnam Traveling Wall in October 2018.
