Scofflaws With Suspended Licenses Arrested In Putnam: Cops
All were Peekskill residents. One was driving with 24 active suspensions, one with 11, one with seven, police said.
Three people were recently arrested on drivers license charges, Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr. reports. All three are Peekskill residents, all three were driving with suspended licenses, and all three have repeatedly had their licenses suspended, police said.
At 12:08 p.m. April 4, Deputy Kevin Radovich observed a vehicle commit traffic violations on Oscawana Lake Road, in the Town of Putnam Valley. Deputy Radovich initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle. A computer check revealed that the driver, Matthew Perez, 29, of Peekskill, had a suspended New York State Driver’s License. Perez’s license was suspended 25 times on 10 separate court dates. It was also revealed that Perez had two active warrants out of the Town of Yorktown Police Department. He was placed under arrest, processed and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the First Degree-Driving with ten or more suspensions on ten separate dates (Felony). Perez was arraigned by the Honorable Justice Louis DiCarlo of the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court. Deputy Radovich then turned Perez over to the Town of Yorktown Police Department, for enforcement of the active warrants.
At 1 p.m. April 8, Deputy Radovich observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation on State Route 9, in the Town of Philipstown. Deputy Radovich initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. A computer check revealed that the driver, Ashley Johnston, 25, of Peekskill, had a suspended New York State Driver’s License (11 active suspensions on five different court dates). Johnston was placed under arrest and transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility for arrest processing. Johnston was processed and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Second Degree (Misdemeanor). Johnston posted $250 bail and was released. She was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Philipstown Justice Court.

At 1:55 p.m. April 9, Deputy Radovich observed another vehicle commit a traffic violation on Route 9 in Philipstown. He initiated a traffic stop. Computer check revealed that the driver, Marlo Pavone, 51, of Peekskill, had a suspended New York State Driver’s License (7 active suspensions on 3 separate dates). Pavone was placed under arrest for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Second Degree (Misdemeanor). Pavone was arrested, processed at the scene, issued an appearance ticket, and released on her own recognizance.
