Aggravated DWI Charge in Mahopac

The resident was stopped on Route 6N.

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Mahopac woman on a charge of DWI.

At about 1:15 a.m. March 24, Deputy Sheriff Jonathan Irwin stopped a motorist who had committed traffic violations on Route 6N in Mahopac. The deputy concluded that the driver, identified as Jennifer Rist, of 7 Boniello Drive, Mahopac was intoxicated.

The deputy arrested Rist and charged her with Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor, after the 37-year-old failed a series of standardized field sobriety tests. She was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility where her charge was upgraded to Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor, due to her blood alcohol level.
