The big storm that's moving into the Hudson Valley will turn into a nor'easter on Monday afternoon, and it's already having a big impact on the region.
Heavy rain is in the forecast, with flooding possible, specially along the coast. What you see falling from the sky will certainly depend on how far north you live and at what elevation you live.
A number of schools have already cancelled after-school activities or even dismissed students early.

Brewster Central School District: No after school activities or evening events
Carmel Central School District: All after-school activities cancelled

Haldane Central School District: All afterschool activities are cancelled.
Mahopac Central School District: after school and evening programs are cancelled.
Putnam Valley Central School District: All after school activities are cancelled
Rule of thumb at this point is further north and the higher locales will see more frozen precipitation — and we aren’t talking about snow. Sleet and rain dominate the forecast.
