Bear, Her Cub Found Dead On Taconic Parkway
The bodies will be disposed of unless they are tagged.
PUTNAM VALLEY, NY — A bear and her cub were found dead on the Taconic State Parkway in Putnam Valley. They had been on the southbound side of the roadway south of the entrance at Peekskill Hollow Road since Monday.
The two animals were thought to have been hit by a car and will be removed by the Department of Transportation, the Daily Voice said.
The bodies will be disposed of, unless the mother bear was tagged, in which case the Department of Environmental Conservation will be contacted.
