Brewster Man Charged With Burglary

He also gave false information when cops issued traffic tickets, they say.

SOUTHEAST, NY — A Brewster man is accused of burglary and falsifying business records.

On May 12, 2018, state troopers responded to Allview Avenue in the town of Southeast to help a victim reporting a residential burglary.

On May 14, state police arrested Sergio O. Soto Miguel, 21.

He is charged with two counts of Burglary in the 2nd degree, class C felonies, and two counts of Falsifying Business Records, in the 2nd degree, class A misdemeanors.

Police said the investigation conducted by Troopers and SP Brewster Investigators found Soto Miguel had committed two burglaries in the area, and stolen over $8,000 in U.S. currency. They also allege that Soto Miguel had been issued two uniform traffic tickets by the State Police, and he used false information to avoid prosecution.

Soto Miguel was arraigned before the town of Southeast Court, and sent to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $3,000 cash bail or $6,000 bond.
