Brewster Man Wanted by Immigration Picked up on Drug Charges

Putnam Sheriff's Deputies had been investigating cocaine sales in the area.

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest, on drug charges, of a Brewster resident for whom a deportation warrant had been issued.

At 3:10 a.m. Oct. 29, deputies assigned to the Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit were on patrol on North Main Street in Brewster when they observed a man who they knew to be the suspect in an ongoing narcotics sales investigation by other members of the NEU. They detained him.

A criminal history check of the man indicated that he was the subject of an active Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deportation warrant. They allege he was also, at the time, in possession of a quantity of powdered cocaine.
