Brewster VFW Wants to Place Flag Holders on All Vets' Graves in Southeast

If you know of a veteran buried in Southeast who does not have one installed, here's how to let the VFW know.

BREWSTER, NY — The Brewster VFW is looking for donations towards a noble cause.

It is the members' goal that the grave every veteran buried within the borders of the town of Southeast receive a brass flag-holder if it does not already have one.

Each year, in the weeks leading up to Memorial Day, the VFW and numerous local groups and individuals come together to give every interred veteran a fresh American Flag to honor their service. This event has come to known as the Bob Palmer Project.

Many graves have the brass flag-holder already installed. But many do not, and each year there are additional veterans interred.

The VFW is looking for those that are missing a flag holder, and is welcoming donations to help them complete their task. Each flag holder costs about $45 and must be cemented in place to discourage theft.
