Brewster Woman Charged with Assaulting Roommate
The victim was treated at Putnam County Hospital for injuries to her hand.
Dinora D. Ortega, 37, faces charges of Assault 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.
Ortega was arrested at 5:30 a.m. Sept. 21, after state police were dispatched to investigate a report of an assault in Brewster. Police said she assaulted her roommate with a knife.
The victim was transported to the Putnam County Hospital where she was treated for hand lacerations. The injuries were not life threatening.
Ortega was arraigned before the Town of Patterson Justice Court and sent to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $150,000 cash / $300,000 bond.

She is scheduled to re-appear in the Village of Brewster Court Oct. 20.
