Car Club Hits the Road to Honor Sullivan Family
Traditional Fun Run named in their memory raises funds for sole surviving family member.
The paid tribute to the of Carmel saturday morning, renaming their "Fun Run" to the Sullivan Family Memorial Road Run Around The Mighty Hudson River.
, the club's events director who did the majority of planning for this event, was killed along with his wife and two daughters when fire engulfed their Carmel home May 1. Sullivan, a former New City resident, was a captain in the and was a former New York City police officer.
"He probably handled 75 percent of the planning for this ride" said membership director Dave Cerotti of Putnam Valley as he joined severl other club members at the Annsvile Circle gas station in Cortlandt Manor at 6:00 a.m.

Sullivan was an avid "Z" car fan.
Cerotti greeted the lone survivor of the family, Thomas Sullivan Jr., as he arrived with his grandfather, John, to participate in the 150 mile ride which picks up additional members at each stop along the way. Their course would take them from Cortlandt across the Bear Mountain Bridge to New City, back across the George Washington Bridge into the Bronx, on to Stamford, Carmel and finishing up for lunch at The Stadium restaurant in Garrison.

The club has about 180 members, owners and enthusiasts of the Datsun and Nissan Z-cars, and several dozen were expected by the end of the ride Cerotti said. The club sold commemerative t-shirts along the way with funds going to help Tom Sullivan, Jr. More information is available at the club's website: www.nyzcc.com
