Car Stolen from Metro-North Lot; Patterson Man Accused
The Putnam Sheriff's Office found the car in a Carmel parking lot.

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Patterson man in connection with the larceny of a motor vehicle.
On May 6, 2016 at approximately 2:30 p.m., a Patterson resident arrived on a train at the Metro-North Commuter Railroad Patterson Station to discover that her vehicle had been stolen from the station parking lot, police said.
The resident immediately reported the vehicle stolen to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department.

After an investigation, police identified a suspect, Paul H. Andrews, 41, of 1005 Route 311, Patterson.
On May 10, Andrews was located by members of the PCSD Bureau of Criminal Investigation, arrested and charged with Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, a felony.

He was arraigned before Town of Southeast Justice Richard Vercollone and committed to the Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 bond pending a May 23, 2016 appearance in the Town of Patterson Justice Court to answer the charge.
The victim’s vehicle was subsequently recovered at Shop Rite Plaza on Route 52 in the Town of Carmel, police said.
If found guilty of the felony charges, the defendant could face up to four years in a New York State Correctional Facility and a fine of up to $5,000.00.
