boys win
We thank boys hoop student manager/statistician extraordinaire Drew Podgorski for providing the stats for this update:
Led by Mike Bonilla’s 18 points, Brewster's boys basketball squad defeated host North Salem 68-47 on Feb. 7 to improve to 11-6.
Teammates Brian McNeill and Ryan Mahoney contributed 17 and 12 points respectively to the win.
College baseball
Brewster resident Mike Mercurio, who set a school single-game record for most runs batted in by a leadoff batter, has been named Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week. Mercurio helped lead Mount Olive to a season-opening three-game sweep over Lenoir-Rhyne, which vaulted the Trojans to the No. 1 spot in this week's Collegiate Baseball Top 30 Poll.
