Cops: Bank Accounts Raided With ID Theft

A man from Liberty is in Putnam County Jail.

SOUTHEAST, NY — A Liberty, NY resident is accused of stealing $7,300 from corporate accounts at Keybank.

On Tuesday, New York State Police charged Samuel J. Sicoli, 49, with Identity Theft in the 1st degree, and Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree, both D felonies.

On June 7, investigators in SP Brewster received a complaint of a possible larceny from corporate bank accounts totaling $7,300. After investigation, police alleged Sicoli used false identification to access and steal the money from the Keybank accounts.

Sicoli was arraigned before the town of Southeast Court, and sent to the Putnam County without bail. Sicoli is next scheduled to appear before the court on July 16.
