Cops: Break In at Brewster's Red Rooster

BREWSTER, NY — New York State Police are investigating a weekend burglary at the Red Rooster on Route 22, Brewster's Hamlet Hub reports.

Public Information Officer Melissa McMorris told the media website that sometime early Sunday morning an unknown person or persons forced open a rear door to the establishment, broke open the registers and took a safe. The burglary was discovered Sunday morning by employees and investigators found the safe in the woods behind the popular drive-in.

The New York State Police BCI is continuing the investigation at this time. Anyone with any information is asked to call the New York State Police Brewster Barracks at 845-279-6161.
