Crash On Peekskill Hollow Road Kills 38-Year-Old

A passerby helped the Sheriff's Deputy get the driver out of the burning car.

PUTNAM COUNTY, NY — The Putnam Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal crash that happened at 12:50 a.m. June 3 on Peekskill Hollow Road.

A deputy dispatched to the crash near Nashua Road in Putnam Valley located a vehicle off the roadway that had struck a tree and was engulfed in flames.

The driver, a 38-year-old resident of Kent, was unconscious and still in the vehicle. With help from a motorist who had stopped to assist, they were able to get the driver out of the vehicle and began life-saving efforts including CPR, police said.

The victim was transported by ambulance to Westchester Medical Center but did not survive, police said.

The Putnam Valley Fire Department assisted on the scene with the vehicle fire and with traffic control.
