CT Man Threatened To Kill Southeast Resident

He fled to Russia and was arrested when he returned.

Connecticut resident Anthony Magliocco, 29, was sentenced Wednesday to 14 years state prison for the crime of Burglary in the First Degree and to 1 1/3 – 4 years for the crime of Bail Jumping in the Second Degree. The sentences are to be served consecutively with 5 years post release supervision.

The sentence comes after a guilty verdict at trial this past March, Putnam County District Attorney Robert V. Tendy announced.

Tendy said that on Aug. 28, 2014 Magliocco arrived unannounced at the victim’s home in Southeast, entered without warning, and immediately attacked his victim, declaring that he had come to kill her. During the attack he forcefully prevented a witness from calling 911, then fled once the victim herself was able to dial 911.

State Police responded to the scene and immediately reached out to the Newtown, Connecticut police for assistance in apprehending Magliocco.

Magliocco failed to appear in court and instead boarded a flight from JFK airport and fled to Russia. He was apprehended on an arrest warrant almost one year later when he returned from Russia to Los Angeles.
