Danbury Man Accused Of Drunken Driving In Southeast

A test showed his blood alcohol level was almost three times the legal limit.

SOUTHEAST, NY — A 31-year-old Danbury, Connecticut resident faces a charge in New York of driving while intoxicated.

On May 15, a deputy sheriff saw someone driving erratically, southbound on Route 22 in the Town of Southeast.

The Deputy initiated a traffic stop and upon interviewing the driver immediately noticed the strong odor of alcohol, police said. The man was given a series of field sobriety tests, which he failed.

At the Sheriff’s Office he was given a chemical breath test which indicated he had a blood alcohol level of .21 percent, almost three times the legal limit of 0.08 percent.

He was given an appearance ticket for a court date in the Town of Southeast on the DWI charge and several vehicle and traffic violations, and was released to his wife.
