Delays, Detours: Lane, Ramp Closures On I-684 Near I-84
Three months worth of paving work will shut ramps and close lanes day and night.
SOUTHEAST, NY β From now until late November, lane and ramp closures are expected on both northbound and southbound sides of Interstate 684 between the Interstateβs terminus at Route 22 in Putnam County and Exit 8 (Hardscrabble Road) in North Salem, Westchester County. Crews will be performing paving activities, weather permitting. With the exception of holidays, work is expected to occur weekdays and last through November.
Single lane closures are expected during daytime hours and double lane closures are expected in the overnight hours. Southbound double lane closures are anticipated to occur between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. and northbound double lane closures are anticipated to occur between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
The following ramp closures are anticipated and motorists are advised to follow the posted detours:

The Interstate 684 northbound ramp in Southeast to Exit 9W (Interstate 84 West) is expected to be closed beginning at 10 p.m. Tuesday, August 29 to 5 a.m. Wednesday, August 30.
The Interstate 684 southbound ramps to Exit 9E (Interstate 84 East) and Exit 9W (Interstate 84 West) are expected to be closed beginning at 10 p.m. Wednesday, August 30 to 5 a.m. Thursday, August 31.

Use caution when traveling through the work zone areas and pay particular attention to flaggers and all traffic control devices, including signs.
Remember, fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individualβs driver license.
