Dispute Over Guinea Pig Leads To Assault Charges

The argument grew so heated that the two roommates assaulted each other, police said.

MAHOPAC, NY — Carmel police officers were called to a residence in Mahopac at 7:21 p.m. Sunday for a dispute among roommates.

They found that two women arguing over a pet guinea pig. The dispute became physical when they assaulted each other.

Both were transported to Putnam Hospital Center by EMS to be treated for their injuries and
each was charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, and issued an appearance ticket.
