Donuts On The Ballfield: 4 Arrests In Southeast

BREWSTER, NY — Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr. reports the arrest of four Putnam County residents after the Brewster High School baseball field was vandalized.

At 4:53 a.m. March 10, Deputy Shane Rossiter and Deputy Ryan Diskin of the Emergency Service Unit were dispatched to a report of a vehicle doing “donuts” on the high school baseball field. When they arrived they found an occupied vehicle stuck on the field.

The vandalism caused $1,000 worth of damage to the baseball field, the sheriff said.

The driver, Cole Crandell, 19, of Southeast was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree (Class E Felony), and Trespass (Violation).

The occupants of the vehicle: Tino Surace, 19, of Southeast; Brian Milano, 19, of Southeast, and Nicholas Leahy, 19, of Patterson, were arrested and charged with Trespass (Violation).

Crandell was transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility for arrest processing and arraigned in the Town of Southeast Justice Court. He was released on his own recognizance, pending a future court date. Surace, Milano, and Leahy were issued appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Southeast Justice Court.

All four men are scheduled to appear in court at a future date and time.
