Drug Arrests: Putnam Sheriff

heroin, Adderall, cocaine, Lorazapam, marijuana, Percocet, morphine and Atropine were among the drugs found.

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports that several arrests were made recently by the Sheriff’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit in separate incidents. The arrests occurred in Carmel, Brewster and Southeast.

  • Daniel Russell, 34, of Ipswich Road in Patterson, was arrested in Carmel July 26. Russell, who is on probation for a previous offense, was arrested after he reported for a meeting with his probation officer and was allegedly found to be in possession of morphine, Hydrocodone, Lorazepam and Atropine without having proper prescriptions for those drugs. The Probation Department notified the NEU, which charged Russell with four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. He was issued an appearance ticket ordering him to answer the charges in the Town of Carmel Court and was then released back to the Probation Department.
  • Richard Marcantonio, 55, of Larkspur Road in Southeast, was arrested in the Village of Brewster July 28, after the car he was driving was stopped for a traffic violation and he was allegedly found to be in possession of heroin and crack cocaine. He was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and also with driving with a revoked license and without having a mandated ignition alcohol interlock device installed in the car. He was booked at the Sheriff’s Office and then released pending a future court appearance in the Village of Brewster Justice Court.
  • Thomas Pecor, 27, of Sherwood Hill Road in Southeast, was arrested in that Town on Aug. 2 after the car he was driving was pulled over for traffic violations. During that traffic stop, Pecor was allegedly found to have cocaine and Adderall in his possession. He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and released until a later court date in the Town of Southeast Justice Court.
  • Amelia Andreasian, 23, of Center Street in the Village of Brewster, was arrested on Aug. 4 after undercover sheriff’s deputies in the NEU encountered her and a companion on Main Street in the Village and determined that she allegedly had marijuana and Percocet pills in her possession. The deputies charged her with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and unlawful possession of marihuana. She was issued an appearance ticket directing her to answer the charges in the Village Justice Court.
