Drug Charge for NYC Man in Southeast
Police say he had a lot of Xanax on him. In plastic bags.

SOUTHEAST, NY – Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports that a man from New York City has been arrested on a drug possession charge in Southeast.
Aboubacar Boubie Bagayoko, 20, of Manhattan, is facing a charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a class D felony.
It is alleged that, at about 4:30 P.M. May 10, plainclothes deputies assigned to the Sheriff’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit were monitoring areas in Southeast, when they spotted Bagayoko acting suspiciously in a parked car at a gas station. As the deputies approached the car, they reportedly smelled the odor of burnt marijuana emanating from it.

Upon investigating further, the deputies reportedly found Bagayoko in possession of three plastic bags containing a total of 300 Xanax pills. Xanax is a prescription medication typically dispensed for the treatment of anxiety and panic disorders. Bagayoko allegedly had no prescription for the drug.
The deputies arrested Mr. Bagayoko and brought him for arraignment before the Town of Patterson Justice Court, acting on behalf of the Southeast Justice Court. Patterson Justice Anthony Mole ordered the defendant held in the Putnam County Correctional Facility and set bail at $2,500 cash or $5,000 bail bond. A bail bond was posted to secure the defendant’s release from the jail the next day, May 11th.
