DWI Charge For Mahopac Man
Police stopped a car for speeding on Route 6 near Drewville Road.

CARMEL, NY — A Mahopac resident who police said was speeding on Route 6 also faces drunken-driving charges.
At 12:10 a.m. Dec. 8, Deputy Michael Diveglio saw a vehicle speeding on State Route 6. He initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle in the vicinity of Drewville Road and Crafts Road.
He concluded that the vehicle’s driver, Michael Murtagh, 30, was allegedly intoxicated. Murtagh was placed under arrest and transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility for arrest processing. He was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated (.18 of 1% or more Blood Alcohol Content), and Driving While Intoxicated (Both Misdemeanors).

Murtagh posted $250 bail and was released to a third party. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Carmel Justice Court at a future date and time.
