
Justin M. Koehler, 25, of Carmel, New York, faces charges of Driving While Intoxicated, a Class E Felony, and Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.
New York state troopers said they stopped Koehler Jan. 1 on State Route 55 for failing to maintain his designated lane of travel. After investigation, the arresting officer concluded that Koehler was intoxicated.
He was charged with Felony DWI when a criminal history revealed a previous DWI related conviction from March of 2014.
Koehler supplied a positive breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .20 percent, more than two times the legal limit of intoxication. He was additionally charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree when he refused to be fingerprinted or photographed.
He was arraigned before the Town of Dover Justice Court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail. He is due to appear in the Town of Pawling Court and the Town of Dover Court on a later date.
