Felony Unlicensed Driving Charge for 19-year-old with Previous DWI Arrest
Police allege the Carmel teen was stopped for speeding and was found to be intoxicated.
On June 22, New York State Police from the Brewster barracks arrested Patrick W. O’Keefe Jr., 19 years old, of Carmel, New York, for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 1st Degree, a Class E Felony, and Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.
Troopers stopped O’Keefe on Mary Avenue for speeding. Following an investigation, the arresting officer concluded that O’Keefe was operating the vehicle while intoxicated.

The defendant was additionally charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st Degree when a license check revealed that his driving privileges were revoked due to a previous DWI related arrest.
O’Keefe supplied a breath sample that yielded a Blood Alcohol Content of .16 percent, two times the legal limit of intoxication. He was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in the Town of Carmel Justice Court on July 11.
