Fundraising Effort Begun for Family Burnt Out on Monday
Smoke from the April 18 blaze on Mega Lane could be seen for miles.
A GoFundMe page has been set up for the Martinez family, whose house on Mega Lane in Carmel was destroyed by fire on Monday.
Firefighters from Somers, Yorktown Heights, Carmel, Brewster, Kent and Croton Falls assisted the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department Monday at the blaze.
The house was destroyed by flames and propane tank explosions as multiple brush fires erupted around the structure.

Smoke could be seen from as far as Briarcliff and Millwood, the Daily Voice reported.
