Putnam County is under a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Friday for strong to severe thunderstorms Friday afternoon and early evening. The main threat is large hail and damaging wind gusts, according to the National Weather Service.

Once we get past today’s thunderstorms, it will be a sunny weekend, but very hot and humid with temps continuing in the low to mid 90s.

Partly sunny. Scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Some thunderstorms may produce gusty winds...small hail and heavy rainfall this afternoon. Highs around 90. Southwest winds around 10 mph. Gusts up to 20 mph this afternoon. Chance of rain 40 percent. Heat index values in the mid 90s.

Mostly cloudy in the evening...then becoming partly cloudy. Scattered thunderstorms. Scattered showers. Patchy fog after midnight. Some thunderstorms may produce gusty winds... Small hail and heavy rainfall. Humid with lows in the upper 60s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.
