Helping Putnam Hospital Work on Electronic Medical Recordkeeping

Health Quest has appointed Dr. Kshitij Saxena as chief medical information officer.

Dr. Kshitij Saxena has joined Health Quest as chief medical information officer.

In his position, Saxena will focus on working with healthcare professionals on electronic medical records and related workflow optimization.

“I am humbled and honored by the responsibility the Health Quest leadership team has agreed to bestow upon me,” Saxena said. “The position is about improving patient safety by developing and delivering state-of-the-art technology solutions to our care providers working at our healthcare institutions. This is the guiding principle for me in this position. I am committed to working with our doctors, nurses and allied health professionals on promoting the best clinical decision support systems to advance safe care delivery across our organization.”

Saxena has more than 11 years of physician leadership and medical informatics experience. He comes to Health Quest after working at several institutions, including Meriden Health, Adventist Health Systems, Banner Health, Rush University Medical Center and the Cleveland Clinic. His accomplishments at these sites included implementing electronic medical records, computerized physician order entry systems and physician dynamic documentation/voice recognition tools.

Saxena attended Gandhi Medical College in Bhopal, India, and George Washington University in Washington, D.C for his medical school and medical informatics specialization, respectively.
