Letter to the Editor: Thank You/ Water Issue in Chateau Ridge
to all involved in working so diligently to keep our community from a serious situation regarding our water supply — or lack thereof

Mahopac resident Joyce Mooney expressed gratitude for everyone who helped with the June water crisis at Chateau Ridge.
One of the two wells at the Chateau Ridge water supply stopped producing water, and the supplier, Forest Park Water Company, could not arrange for repair because their payment could not be guaranteed.
Henry Boyd, of Henry Boyd Well Drillers, stepped in at the request of the Putnam County Health Department to provide an emergency repair without knowing when payment would be made.

Dear Ms. Odell,
As a resident Chateau Ridge in Mahopac, I would like to extend my thanks to you, to Senator Murphy, to Mr. Robert Morris at the Putnam County Department of Health, and to all of those who were involved in working so diligently to keep our community from a potentially extremely serious situation regarding our water supply or lack thereof.
I would like to commend in a very special way, Mr. Henry Boyd, of Boyd Artesian Well Co., without whose generosity and kindness, this community would now be facing a rather dire situation. My family, as well as my friends and neighbors in this community, who know what Mr. Boyd has done for us, feel that he deserves to be recognized for his compassion and willingness to selflessly step up to help his "neighbors". With so much negativity, anger, and too many tragic events in our world today, this is the type of human kindness that people need to see and to hear about, not only to up lift spirits but also to see that there are still wonderful examples of goodness in our world today.
Again, my thanks to all who worked towards helping to alleviate our difficulty. Let us hope that going forward, with proper management, with the support and assistance of our elected officials and our Government agencies, along with neighborly help and kindness when needed, we will never have to worry about anything like this very unfortunate and scary situation with our water supply, ever happening again.
Sincerely,
Joyce Mooney
