Letter to the Editor: Town Board Should Approve Crossroads 312

Dear Editor:

Jobs are needed in Southeast. Economic development is needed in Southeast. Tax relief is needed in Southeast. The proposed Crossroads 312 project will positively contribute to all these needs for Southeast and beyond!

In the coming days our Town Board members will be given the chance to support the project after a public hearing. It is my sincere hope, as a long time resident of the town, that all members will support Crossroads 312.

Of all that is being talked about with this project, I am most excited about two aspects in particular. The first is the proposed hotel. When I have out of town friends and family visit there are only so many I can fit in my home. In order to have them stay, I must send them down county in Westchester or into Connecticut to find suitable hotel arrangements. Having a top notch affordable hotel right down the road (that is also employing our neighbors) is going to be an asset.

The second is the traffic solutions. Right now the area of 84 and 312 needs significant improvements to help with traffic flow. Crossroads has proposed these improvements including new high end synchronized traffic lights, and new turning lanes in each direction. I hope all Southeast residents and town officials join with me in supporting Crossroads 312 and its many positive impacts on our community.
