Mahopac Man Faces Felony DWI Charge

He was stopped on I-87 in Yonkers, state police said.

At 10:40 p.m., Sept. 1, State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87 for a speeding violation. Troopers allege that the driver of the vehicle, Jared K. Singer, 33, was intoxicated.

The Mahopac resident was transported and processed at the state police barracks in Tarrytown, where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.10 percent.

Additionally, state police checking records found a prior DWI conviction within the last 10 years; and as a result was subsequently charged with:

Singer was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets returnable to the City of Yonkers Court on Sept. 16.
