McIe and Bottalico Shine: Southeast-Brewster Daily Sports Digest, Feb. 1

Welcome to Patch's daily snapshot of sports in Southeast and Brewster.

Brewster track

squad stood out at the Northern Counties Track and Field Championships Jan. 29, specifically Adam McIe and Ariana Bottalico.

McIe won the 1,000 in a personal-best time of 2 minutes, 32.2 seconds, which also happens to be the fastest in the section this season.

Bottalico, won the 3,000 in a personal-best time of 10:16.5 and also placed first in the 1,500 in 4:56.4.

As a team, Brewster's boys placed third and the Bears' girls squad was fifth.

Wrestling divisionals

The road to a sectional title starts for area grapplers this Saturday, Feb. 4, as the divisionals will be held at four different high schools.

Brewster will be participating in Division 2 at Arlington.
