Mount Kisco Man Charged with Aggregated Unlicensed Driving, DWI in Brewster
He had a suspended license—because of a prior DWI charge.

Joel A. Romero-Lopez of Mount Kisco, faces charges of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st Degree, a Class E Felony, and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor, connected to an incident Oct. 10 in Brewster.
Police said he was stopped at 11:55 p.m. by the Village of Brewster Police for failing to stop at a stop sign.
The Village of Brewster requested State Police assistance with the investigation that revealed Romero-Lopez was intoxicated. It was also determined that he was driving with a suspended driver’s license due to previously being charged with a DWI related offense.

Romero-Lopez, 28, was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated after providing police with a breath sample containing a blood alcohol content greater than .18%. He provided a breath sample that yielded a Blood Alcohol Content of .21%, more than two times the legal limit of intoxication.
He was arraigned before the Village of Brewster Justice Court and sent to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail. He is scheduled to reappear in court Oct. 15.
