New Mexico Man Had Pistols, Ammo on I-84: Putnam Sheriff
He is also accused of resisting arrest.

SOUTHEAST, NY — A New Mexico man traveling through New York with pistols faces charges in Putnam County.
Sheriff Robert L. Langley, Jr. reports the 64-year-old is accused of resisting arrest as well as illegally possessing two handguns.
At about 1:35 a.m. May 21, Deputy Sheriff Shane Rossiter arrested Pedro F. Ruiz-Rivas on Interstate 84 in the Town of Southeast after his vehicle was pulled over for a traffic infraction. Ruiz-Rivas had in his possession one 9 mm semi-automatic pistol and one 45 caliber semi-automatic pistol, along with several boxes of ammunition and a pocket knife.

Ruiz-Rivas was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Firearm, a Class “E” Felony, Resisting Arrest, Driving on the Shoulder, Obstructing Governmental Administration and other related charges.
