New Route 6 Sewer District Proposed
The county plans a feasibility study for the corridor south of Lake Mahopac to help developments and business owners.
MAHOPAC, NY — Property owners on Route 6 between Buckhollow and Union Valley roads are on septic systems. That severely limits their development ability. Now Putnam County officials want to study the possibility putting in a sewer line that would link to a treatment plant in Somers, according to Tap Into Mahopac.
Creation of a sewer district would help residential developments along that corridor such as Society Hills solve their sewage problems, officials said. It would also help business owners who want to more fully utilize their properties.
The sewer line would run down Route 6 to the plant in Heritage Hills. The county is starting a $75,000 feasibility study, the online news page reported.
