A Brewster High School graduate '60, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

Bernadette (Heckler) Dingee of Brewster, NY, died on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Westchester Medical Center, in Valhalla, NY.
Born in Queens, NY on January 3, 1943, Bernadette was the daughter of George and Bernadette (Endres) Heckler. George died when Bernadette was a young child, so she grew knowing the love of her stepfather, Arthur Edwards. She was raised in Queens and moved to Brewster for her Junior year of High School - where she met and fell in love with Paul Dingee. She graduated BHS in 1960 and on October 14, 1961, She and Paul were married at St. Lawrence O’Toole in Brewster.

Although Bernadette worked in the attendance office at H.H. Wells Middle School in Brewster, and later as the Medical Secretary at Brewster Podiatry, her primary occupation was to love and raise her children.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She loved to be with her kids and grandkids; she never missed a grandchild’s school event, and she cherished the time she spent vacationing with her family on Cape Cod.

Bernadette is survived by her son, Mark (Maria) Dingee of Patterson, NY; her daughter, Christine DuBois of Poughquag, NY; her grandchildren, Paul, Nicholas, and Julianne Dingee of Patterson, NY and Kevin & Kyle DuBois of Poughquag, NY; her sister, Susan Manchester of James Island, SC, and her brothers Donald (Monica) Edwards of Lenoir, NC, & Thomas (Debbie) Edwards of Pawleys Island, SC. She was predeceased by her beloved Paul in 2018 and her brother-in-law, Eddie Aubel.
Memorial visitation will be held at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 from 3pm-7pm.
