Obituary: Catherine Tuohy of Brewster
Her calm, steady, strength and faith were a source of comfort to her family as they navigated life's many storms.
Catherine Tuohy, 84, of Brewster, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 26, 2019.
Born in Brooklyn, Catherine was a sister to 8 siblings.
She married Matthew Tuohy on May 24, 1958. They moved to Brewster in 1965 and together they raised 9 children: Marie, Tommy, Barbara, Noreen, Raymond, Christine, Marykate, Andrew, and Gerard. Through the years the family grew to include sons-in-law and daughters-in-law, along with 19 beautiful grandchildren.
Catherine was a devoted wife, mother, and sister. Her calm, steady, strength and faith were a source of comfort to her family as they navigated life’s many storms.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 10 am at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, Brewster, NY. Interment will follow at St. Lawrence O'Toole Cemetery. Friends may call at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster on Friday, November 29th from 4 to 8 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
