Obituary: Edna Gertrude Fox of Brewster

Edna Gertrude Fox of Brewster, NY passed away peacefully, with family by her side at New York Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital Center on February 28, 2020.

Edna was born December 6, 1941, the daughter of Allan Jay and Sarah Elizabeth (Blaney) Kellogg.
She graduated from Bethel High School in Bethel, CT and married (William) Doug Fox on May 1, 1965 at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church. Together they had four sons.

Edna was a stay at home mom until the boys were older. She then pursued various occupations until settling into, and retiring from, her position as bookkeeper for Clearwater Excavating in North Salem, NY.

Edna loved flower gardening and bingo. She was a closet Yankees fan in a Mets fan house and enjoyed watching New York Rangers hockey. She truly loved having family parties so she and all could gather and visit with relatives.

She especially loved her grandchildren. Grammy’s little angels are Erin, Kaeley, Hayden, Natalie, Hannah, Avery, Ian, and more recently, Joseph and Vincent; sons from her daughter Wendy, who she gave up for adoption out of love in April, 1964 and recently reunited with much love and affection.

Edna was predeceased by her husband Doug, her brother-in-law, Bill Gordon, and her Sister-in-law, Carol. She is survived by her children; Wendy DeRose (Joe) of Boonton, NJ, Michael A Fox of Brewster, NY, Patrick J (Judy) Fox of LaGrangeville, NY, Daniel J (Mary) Fox of Brewster, NY, and Andrew C. (Jennifer) Fox of Sandy Hook, CT as well as her grandchildren. She also leaves a sister, RoseMarie Gordon of Ancramdale, NY, a brother Alan Kellogg of Hawaii, A brother Richard (Linda) Kellogg of Brookfield, CT, and a sister, Maryanne (Jon) Messinger of Texas.

A service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, March 5 at Beecher Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 4 2020 at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY from 4pm-8pm.
