Obituary: Garyanne Higgs of Holmes

Garyanne Higgs, age 78, a resident of Holmes, NY, formerly of Wassaic and Cold Spring, NY, died on November 22, 2019 in Newburgh, NY. Garyanne was born on February 20, 1941 in Lake Carmel, NY to Henry and Elsie (Booth) Hyatt. She attended Carmel schools.

On November 12, 1976, Garyanne married Warren E. Higgs at the Patterson Baptist Church in Patterson, NY. Mr. Higgs died in 2001.

Garyanne was a school bus aide for the Carmel Central School District for 28 years, retiring in 2001.Through her longtime position with the school district, Garyanne had shown a unique passion of caring for the children she looked after every day, but it was the love of family and her love for her family that was so very important to her.

Garyanne is survived by her sister Betty Lou Smith and her husband Gerald of Wyalusing, PA and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Friday, November 29, 2019 12 Noon at Dwyer Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Patterson, NY. Friends may call on Friday from 10:00am until 12 Noon at the funeral home.www.dwyerfuneralhome.com
