Obituary: James M. Thompson Sr., Former Patterson Resident
Mr. Thompson was an active member of the Knights of Columbus for over 35 years.

James M. Thompson Sr., 72 of Pawling NY passed away at Putnam Hospital Center May 5, 2022.
Jim was born June 19, 1949 in Yonkers NY to Dorothy (McIntyre) and Arthur B. Thompson and attended Yonkers Schools Graduating from Yonkers High School in 1967. He worked for Verizon in Mt. Vernon, NY for 33 years and retired in 2001.

Jim Married Karen (nee Alfonso) “The Best Wife He Ever Had” in March 1975, in 1976 they moved to Patterson NY where they raised their family, James Jr. & Kelly. When they became empty nesters they moved to a condo in Pawling, Jim loved to tell people he sat at the kitchen table drinking coffee while his lawn was being mowed.
Jim was an active member of The Knights of Columbus for over 35 years and belonged to Our Lady of The Lakes Council #6318 in Carmel, NY and Mother Cabrini Assembly #472. In the Knights Jim served on NY State Council for 8 years as State Treasurer, State Program Director and Administrative Assistant to the State Deputy and State Youth Director.

The best job he held was Poppy! to his Princess Haley, they enjoyed hanging together and binge watching Secrets of the Zoo Columbus and last year Jim even took Haley to Ohio to visit the Columbus Zoo and The Wilds. They also enjoyed Day Trips & Mini Vacations.
Jim is survived by his Wife Karen, Daughter Kelly (Jason) Jaconetti, Granddaughter Haley Jaconetti, Grandson Cody Thompson and many nieces and nephews. Jim is predeceased by his Son James Jr., Grandson Jesse James Jaconetti, Sister Barbara Lorenz and Brothers Arthur and Richard.
