Obituary: ​Joanne (Josephine) Muraco, 70

Joanne (Josephine) Muraco of Danbury, CT, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday July 5, 2022, in Danbury at the age of 70.

Joanne was born April 10, 1952, in Mt. Kisco, NY, daughter of the late Salvatore and Sadie (Ferrara) Cali. She graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1970 and on June 27, 1976, she married Anthony Muraco in Pleasantville, NY. They lived in Brewster, NY for twenty-eight years before moving to Danbury, CT seven years ago. Joanne worked as a Medical Records Clerk at CareMount Medical in Brewster for over twenty years and was a big Mets fan.

Besides her husband Anthony, Joanne is survived by her three children, Serena Chase and her husband Ryan of Cape Cod, MA, Joseph Muraco and his girlfriend Braden White of Patterson, NY, Lisa Perez and her husband Matt of Boca Raton, FL: sister Inez Belfiore of Land O’Lakes, FL and grandchildren Carissa and Benjamin Chase and Arya Perez.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday July 8, 2022, at 12:00 pm at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster, NY followed by the interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY. Calling hours will take place Thursday July 7, 2022, at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, NY from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
