Obituary: John Cantiello of Brewster

John Cantiello of Brewster, NY, passed away unexpectedly Saturday February 11, 2023, in Danbury, CT at the age of 72.

John was born May 23, 1950, in Bronx, NY, son of the late Antimo and Yolanda (Trani) Cantiello. He graduated from Clarkstown High School. On May 4, 1991, he married Joan Lanza at St. Vito’s Church in Mamaroneck, NY. They lived in Portchester before moving to Brewster in 2002. John worked as a substance abuse counselor for Lexington Center for Recovery in Mt. Kisco, NY. John was a lifelong Beatles fan and a member of Sacred Heart Church in Patterson.

John is survived by his wife Joan, daughters Gianna Warren and her husband Gavin of Hilton Head, SC, Mia Cantiello of Deltona, FL and granddaughter Freyja.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday February 18, 2023, at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster, NY at 10:00 am. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held Friday February 17, 2023 at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, NY from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
