Obituary: John Jay Finney Sr., Purple Heart Recipient

John Joseph Finney Sr. made his journey to the Heavenly Father on Sunday February 27th, 2022, at the age of 76.

Jay Jay, as he was affectionately known as by many, was born on September 21, 1945, in Baltimore, Maryland. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was a purple heart recipient in the Vietnam War. Jay Jay loved deep-sea fishing, gardening, gold, and his most faithful companion, Swag.

He is survived by his wife, Carol, his children, Paula (Shane), Donna (Greg), John. Jr, James (Lisa), Kimberly (Brian), Brian (Jennifer), Steven, (predeceased) and Tyler. He is also survived by many, many, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

His Memorial with Military Honors will take place at The Beecher Funeral Home of Brewster, New York on May 14, 2022 at 10:00 AM.
