Obituary: Laura Catherine Capra, 83

An RN, the North Salem resident also did missionary service in Japan with her family for four years.

Laura Catherine (Wilson) Capra of North Salem, NY, died peacefully with her family by her side on October 28, 2021. She was 83 years old.

Mrs. Capra was born on February 16, 1938, in Geneva, NY, to Marion (Davis) and Edgar Wilson.

She graduated from New Paltz High School and Grasslands School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse for 43 years. In 1966, she traveled to Japan where she and her family served as missionaries until 1970. She retained her heart for missions throughout her lifetime, always ready to share her faith and her favorite verses from Scripture.

Laura is survived by her children, Sharon Fletcher of Woodstock, NY, Deborah Feliciano of Sugar Land, TX and Philip (Lisa) Capra Jr. of North Salem, NY; her grandchildren, Nicole Lee (Peter) Zambelletti, Philip Michael Capra, Daniel Alexander Capra, David Thomas Fletcher, and Selina Maria (Nick) Fall; her great-grandchildren, Deborah Anne Fall, Nicholas John Fall, Jr; her brother, Stephen Wilson, and her sisters, Ann Cachine, Eileen Goldman, and Carolyn Telesco. She was predeceased by her brother, Wayne Wilson.

Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave, Brewster, NY assisted the family with arrangements. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Brewster in Spring 2022.
