Obituary: Mary J. Jackson, 87

Mary J. Jackson of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully in Newark March 10, 2023, at the age of 87.

Mary was born February 21, 1936, in Plains Township, PA, daughter of the late Thomas and Isabel (Simpson) Davie. Mary was a longtime resident of Poughquag, NY where she was employed by the New York State Department of Corrections as an Administrative Assistant in the Parole Office of Green Haven Prison for almost thirty years.

Mary was a devoted mother and grandmother, who loved the color purple, houseplants, purses, and driving.

The former Patterson resident is survived by her son Roy Feig and his wife Katherine; daughters Shirley Steele and Susan Kozlowski and her husband John; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, as well as two nieces. She is predeceased by husband, James D. Jackson, brother Thomas A. Davie, and a nephew.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Dwyer Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Patterson, NY. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Monday March 20, 2023, at 11am followed by the burial at Maple Avenue Cemetery in Patterson, NY.
