Paul Carmody passed away at Westchester Medical Center on July 13, 2022, following a courageous battle against lung cancer and Leukemia.
Paul was born in Mount Vernon, ·NY on Feb.6, 1959, the 7th child of Daniel Barrett and Helen Griffith Carmody. Paul graduated from Cardinal Spellman High School in 1977 and attended Manhattan College before becoming a Licensed Electrician. He worked for Local 3 for 37 years, retiring in 2018.

He was affectionately known by his co-workers as "Paulie Ha-Ha" because of his keen wit, infectious laugh and great sense of humor. He was kind and generous with never a bad word for anyone. He was an avid NYGiants and NY Yankees fan, but above all, he was a devoted family man.
Paul married the love of his life who he cherished always, Kim McNamara, on May 9, 1981, and together with their family of pets, they lived life to the fullest. Paul is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kim, his mother-in-law Dorothy Brennan of Patterson NY, his dogs, Cassie, Marley, Ziggy and Izzy, his cat, Merlin, and his tortoise, Summer. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Carmody of Bronxville NY, Susan Bravo of Walnut Creek, California, Eileen Kreuttner of, Hedgesville, West Virginia, Maureen Carmody of Mt. Vernon, NY and Helen Propersi of New Rochelle, NY. His brothers, Daniel of Branchburg NJ, Michael of City Island, NY and Martin of Rutland, VT. A special sister-in-law Susan Melchiori of Patterson NY, and many adoring nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday August 8, 2022, from 2-4 pm at Beecher Funeral Home at 1 Putman Ave Brewster, NY. There will also be a Memorial Mass at St. Peter and Paul Church in Mt Vernon, NY on Friday August 5, 2022 at 10:30 AM for those wishing to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul's honor to the Putnam County Humane Society would be appreciated.
