Rita Sant Bambara of Brewster, NY, formerly of Goldens Bridge, NY died peacefully at Putnam Ridge Nursing Home in Brewster, NY on July 25, 2022.

Born on October 26, 1930, in New York, NY, Rita was the daughter of Salvatore S. and Marianna (Attard) Sant.

She attended school and graduated from high school in New York City. In 1950, Rita moved, with her parents, to Goldens Bridge, NY. In 1966, she married Charles F. Bambara, and they made their home in Goldens Bridge until 1989.

At Sacks 5th Avenue, Rita worked in Cosmetics Sales until she retired in the 1980s. She was a member of the Goldens Bridge Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed arts and crafts in her free time. She especially loved sewing - to the extent that she made all her own clothes.

Rita is survived by her son Randall (Allison) Sant of Brewster, NY; her grandchildren, Nicole Sant of Brewster, NY, Jennifer (Arman) Weissman of Pound Ridge, NY, Ashley Sant of Brewster, NY, and Randy Jr. of Golden's Bridge, NY; her great-grandchildren, Jayden, Eli, and Bella; her sister, Irma Cassar of NC, and her brother, Danny Sant of Golden's Bridge, NY. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles, as well as two brothers, Salvatore and Samuel Sant.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday August 2, 2022 at St. Joseph Church at 10:00am in Somers, NY. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Somers, NY.

Calling hours will be held Monday from 4-8pm at Beecher Funeral Home in Brewster, NY.
