Obituary: Rita Skrobalak Of Brewster

Rita M. Skrobalak of Brewster, NY, passed away Friday October 8, 2021, in New York, NY at the age of 74.

Rita was born on July 7, 1947 in Meadville, PA, daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Probulski) Contray. She graduated from Ambridge High School in Ambridge, PA in 1965 and then attended Duffs business school for a year. On May 4, 1968 she married the love of her life, Robert Skrobalak in Baden, PA. After leaving Pennsylvania, they moved to Brewster, NY. Rita worked as a main office secretary for the Brewster Central School District for elementary, middle and high schools until she retired in 2010 after 25 years.

Rita is survived by her husband Robert, son Michael (predeceased in 1999), daughter Erin Skrobalak Serafini and her husband Steve Serafini of Waxhaw, NC, son Matthew Skrobalak of Los Angeles CA, sisters Barbara Dorsey of Pittsburgh, PA, Donna Manganello of Economy, PA and JoEllen McCoy of Aliquppa, PA. Beloved grandchildren include Madeline, Max and Alexandra Serafini and several nieces and a nephew.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm followed by a service at 8:00 pm at the Beecher Funeral Home (1Putnam Ave., Brewster, NY). The interment is private meant for immediate family.
