Obituary: Vincent LaMorte of Brewster

Vincent LaMorte of Brewster, NY, passed away Monday January 16, 2023, in Carmel, NY at the age of 83.

Vinny was born September 7, 1939, in Muro Lucano, Italy, son of the late Francesco and Maria Felicia (Conforto) LaMorte. He came to the United States and settled in Bronx, NY where he graduated from high school. On June 3, 1961 he married Diane Zambri in the Bronx. They moved to Brewster in 1966 and became members of St. Lawrence O’Toole Church. Vinny worked as a carpenter with Sposato Construction in Harrison, NY for thirty years, retiring in 2000 and was a member of the Putnam County Italian American Social Club in Brewster.

Vinny is survived by his wife Diane of Brewster, son Frank LaMorte and his wife Diane of Carmel, NY; daughters Maria Braia and her husband George of Brewster, NY, Lisa Carleton and her husband Robert of Somers, NY and VinnieAnn Goldberg of Brewster, NY; brother Domenico LaMorte of Brewster, NY, sister Teresa Bianchini of Brewster, NY and grandchildren Brittany and Ariana Braia, Daniel and Marissa Carleton, Sean Doolan and Alex, Nicoletta and Mikayla Goldberg.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday January 21, 2023, at 10:00 am at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, followed by the interment in St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery in Brewster. Calling hours will take place Friday January 20, 2023, at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
